Summertime at Bailey Lodge is a very special time of year and our guests who come from far away are always fascinated with the natural wonders that characterize life in the mountains. The Rocky Mountains really come to life with the abundant sunshine and the moisture that isolated afternoon and evening thundershowers bring. When the evening light is right, such storms passing through our river canyon valley will often display spectacular rainbows like the one pictured at the right.
The North Fork of the South Platte River flows through lodge grounds. Guests are welcome to fish along the length of the river between fences on the property. As well, you can enjoy watching some of our frequent fly-in visitors: blue heron, red-tailed hawks, hummingbirds, water ouzels (dippers), geese and a variety of ducks!
Our heated swimming pool is a popular and relaxing summertime diversion. Kids love it!
