Hall Valley -
Just a few miles from Bailey Lodge, Hall Valley (FSR 120) and Handcart Gulch offer many recreation opportunities for outdoor lovers. Scenic Jeep rides, historic gold and silver mining sites, hiking trails, intense summertime wildflower displays, wildlife viewing, cross country skiing, mountain biking on Jeep trails and more. This vast area gives visitors plenty of space to explore. At the end of the day you can be back at Bailey Lodge for a hot shower, an excellent dinner at a local restaurant and a relaxing evening by the fireplace in your room to round off your day.

Places to Explore:

Sub-alpine meadow and wildflowers picture.
Summer scenes like this are common in the nearby high country. This scenic alpine area, just a few miles from Bailey Lodge, is near timberline at the top of Handcart Gulch. Your 4x4 will get you there.
Red Cone mountain and Webster Pass picture.
Webster Pass flanks colorful 12,108 foot Red Cone mountain. There is only a small window of opportunity each year to get over this pass in a well equipped 4x4. Snow cornices are often the final obstacle which more often than not will stop even the most elaborately equipped Jeep in its tracks.
